World’s Best Ranked Wines 2017 (some under $25!!!)

Wine is pretty much the best thing around. It encapsulates everything in one bottle that is good and true about life. First of all, it tastes great; it’s also a living art form that you imbibe; it brings people together in celebration; it makes you feel loose, especially on a first date; it makes food, especially the kind you cook, taste even better. I could go on, and on, but I don’t want to digress from the point. The definitive, comprehensive ranking of the worlds’ best wine came out about two weeks ago! Saweet.

The 2017 World Rankings of Wines & Spirits (for those not in the know) is the most serious and prestigious global ranking system of wine, first founded in 1996 by the World Association of Wine Writers and Journalists. This association, WRW&S, consists of journalists, critics, reviewers, authors, and bloggers, who come together every year to write about wines from around the world. Each year, the leaders of the organization classify the wines and wineries that participate in various international wine contests held across the globe. The results are collated and released as the annual, you guessed it, World Ranking of Wines & Spirits.

This year, they evaluated a record number of wines: 700,930 to be exact, from the results of 80 international wine shows. They use a point system to rank the wines that you can– if you like that kind of detail–read about here. Also, just to be clear, if details aren’t your thing, not all the wines are from this year, as the scoring system is scored and ranked on wine contests.

So read up below and take note, because many of these world’s best ranked wines are under $25 bucks. We’ve notated those inexpensive bottles with exclamation points, because, Damn!
